Brrr, It's Cold!

We just can't seem to get away from winter this year! We've gotten so much snow that I thought this card was very appropriate. This little guy was made from Jackie Topa's instructions found here. He's made with several SU punches. I really enjoyed putting him together. To give the penguin a little highlight, I outlined him here and there with a white pencil color. The scarf is some gingham ribbon I had at home. I snipped the ends to make it look like the fringe of a scarf. For the background, I tore a piece of copy paper and masked off the ground area. I then used my home-made cloud pattern to sponge in the clouds and sky. I made my cloud pattern by using the round scallop punch to punch out 3 circles out of a clear window sheet. I taped them together and voila, a cloud bank. It's wonderful, because I can see through it and it helps me plan my sponging. Once the sky was done, I unmasked the ground, put a little glue on it here and there using my 2 way glue pen, then sprinkled with dazzling diamonds glitter. Isn't he cute?!

Very cute penguin! Send some snow and winter our way… it’s been too warm for us here and not enough snow to enjoy snowshoeing etc…

Terri, this card is too adorable! Great job with the clouds! And that penguin is just the cutest thing! I love that you embossed the oval behind him too, it adds some nice texture! Great card!
